Candle Plume: every field and setting explained

Every field well and every Format pane setting of Candle Plume: what it does, its possible values and its default value.

Lire en français

This page describes everything Candle Plume offers: the field wells, then each card of the Format pane, in the order they appear. The default value of each setting is in bold, premium features carry a ★. For a guided first visual, see getting started.

Date / time. The visual detects the granularity (minute, hour, day, week, month…) from the most common gap between two dates. A text in YYYY-MM-DD format is also read as a date; any other text ("Lot 1", "Lot 2") gives a category axis in data order, with no grouping.

Price (single value). Handy for readings: the copper purchase price recorded each day becomes, in 1M, one candle per month (first price, high, low, last price). As long as each bar has a single price (one-day timeframe for daily readings), the Automatic type draws a line rather than flat candles.

Tooltips and Dynamic format: see the shared basics.

Format pane settings

The cards shared by every Plume visual (Plume Studio License, Style, Tooltips, Title, Source note, Frame, Language and numbers) and the two basic settings of the Interactions card are described in the common basics. Here are the cards specific to Candle Plume, in the order of the pane. Color and text settings have the fx button: a measure or a rule can drive them.

Layout

The chart type and the symbol watermark (formerly the "Chart type" card). The new default choice, Automatic, draws a line when only the Price field is filled with one price per bar, and candles otherwise; an explicit choice is kept.
