Image Plume: every field and setting explained
Every field well and every Format pane setting of Image Plume: layout, position and size, mask, outline, image adjustments, caption, thresholds, interactions.

Image (base64). A column (dropped as it is, with no aggregation) or a measure. The visual accepts raw base64 (the type is recognized from its first bytes), data:image/…;base64,… data URIs and the text of an SVG. Web addresses (http, https, \\server, C:\…, file:) are refused, never loaded: a message explains it in edit mode. An SVG is cleaned (scripts, links and external objects removed) before it is shown.
Chunk index. Power BI cuts a column text at 32,766 characters. Split the image into rows (Power Query: see getting started): the visual sorts the chunks by index (2 before 10), keeps a repeated index once and reports missing indexes in edit mode. With Image key, one image per key.
Image key. Without a key, each row is an image (and all the chunk rows form a single image). A click on an image selects it and filters the other visuals: with a key, the key is the identity; without a key (since version 1.1), the Caption column is used, otherwise the Image column.

The Format pane settings
The cards are described in the order of the Format pane.
The cards shared by all Plume visuals (Plume Studio License, Style, Tooltips, Title, Source note, Frame, Language and numbers) are described once in the shared basics: they are not repeated here. The background and rounded corners are set in the Frame card, and the fx button (conditional formatting from a measure) is available on every color and every text.

Per-layer settings ★
This new dynamic card (one entry per image, in Layers mode) sets each layer separately: show or hide it, and give it its own opacity. The position stays shared by all layers.

Position and size

Outline and shadow
Draws an outline around the image and a drop shadow.

Image adjustments
Adjusts the image without changing it: brightness, contrast, filters (black and white, sepia, duotone).

Image by value ★
Changes the image, or its look, according to the measure in the Value field and two thresholds.

Pasted image and fallback
An image pasted directly in the pane (a logo, with no field at all), what shows when an image is missing, and the text read by screen readers.

Playback ★
Shown with a Play axis ★ field: the shared player of Plume visuals (premium since 10/22/2026: watermark as soon as the field holds data). Settings: Frame shown on opening (The last one (most recent), The first one), Duration of a frame (ms) (1000), Loop (Off), Play automatically on opening (Off), Animated transitions (On: cross-fade between two images), Play bar and its options (position, tick marks, tick labels, start and end buttons, speed button), Current value in large type (On, size 44, Bottom right). Shared cards (License, Style, Title, Source note, Frame, Language and texts): see the shared basics. The Black & White, Newspaper and Unknown Pleasures styles turn images to grayscale, Vintage to vintage, Terminal, Hologram and Blueprint to duotone, Neon and Cockpit add an outline (on settings left at their default).

Interactions
This card sets clicks and hover. A click now filters the other visuals even without an Image key field (the Legend column, otherwise Image, is used as identity). New: a web link opened on click, and the Brighter hover effect, like the native Image visual.
