These recipes assume you already have a Filter Bar Plume in place. If not, start with [getting started](/en/tutorials/barre-de-filtres-multichamps): the examples use its data. Features marked ★ are premium: they work without a license, with a watermark.

## How do I allow only one year at a time?

Adding 2025 and 2026 together makes no sense: the year must be a single choice.

1. In the **Fields** well, replace `Priority` with `Year` and put it first: `Year`, `Team`, `Channel` (three fields, so free).
2. In **Format › Value lists › Single-selection fields**, type `Year`.

Result: the Year menu shows radio buttons; picking 2026 replaces 2025. The other fields stay multi-select. For several fields, separate their names with `;` (`Year;Team`).

## How do I check options in several fields, then filter in one go? ★

On a large model, every click recalculates the page. Readers would rather prepare their choices, then run a single calculation.

1. In **Format › Applying filters › Mode**, choose *"Apply" button (single query) ★*.
2. In **Button label**, type for example `Filter`.
3. Check "Phone" under Channel, then "3 · High" under Priority. The bar shows "2 unapplied change(s)"; the report hasn't changed yet.
4. Click **Filter**.

Result: both filters are sent together and the page updates only once. Canceling before you apply puts the bar back in its last applied state.

## How do I put the filters in a side panel?

Your page has a navigation column on the left, 250 to 350 px wide.

1. In **Format › Layout › Layout**, choose *Vertical panel (expandable sections)*.
2. Turn on **Expand the first section**.
3. Place the visual in the side column, using its full height.

Result: the fields are stacked in expandable sections, with the first one open. The vertical panel only collapses into a button below 220 px wide: it stays expanded in a 250 to 350 px column.

## How do I adapt the bar to a phone?

In mobile layout, a bar of three menus doesn't fit across the screen.

1. In the ribbon, **View › Mobile layout**.
2. Drag Filter Bar Plume onto the phone canvas.
3. In **Format › Layout**, leave **Collapse into a "Filters" button** on *Automatic (when the fields do not fit the frame)* and type `Filter` in **Collapsed button label**.

Result: on the phone, the bar becomes a button that shows the number of active filters and opens a full-frame panel. On the wider desktop page, the bar stays expanded. To set the threshold yourself, choose *Below a chosen width* and set **Collapse width (px)** (420 by default).

## How do I sync the bar across several pages?

Readers pick their team and channel once, for the whole report: this is **slicer sync**, a Power BI feature.

1. Select Filter Bar Plume on the first page.
2. In the ribbon, **View › Sync slicers**. The **Sync slicers** pane lists the pages.
3. In the sync column (circular arrows icon), check each page that should share the filters.
4. In the visibility column (eye icon), check the pages where the bar should also be shown. Power BI places a copy of the visual there.

Result: all the bar's filters, field by field, carry over to the synced pages. A page checked for sync but not for visibility is filtered without showing the bar.

## How do I open the report with filters already set? ★

When it opens, the report should show chat and email tickets, without a bookmark or a click from the reader: **preselection** sets filters from one measure per field.

1. With the `Tickets` table selected, **Modeling › New measure**:

```dax
Preselected Channel = "Chat;Email"
```

2. Drag `Preselected Channel` into the visual's **Preselection** well, then double-click its name in the well and rename it `Channel` for this visual: that name links it to the `Channel` field.
3. In **Format › Preselection**, leave **Apply** on *Once per session*.
4. Clear the bar's filters, save the report, close it and reopen it.

Result: the "Channel" menu opens with Chat and Email checked, and the other menus stay unfiltered. Add one measure per field you want to preselect. A selection saved in the report or recalled by a bookmark is kept; turn on **Force** to replace it.

## How do I save filter "views" with bookmarks?

The bar doesn't save sets of filters. Power BI **bookmarks** do: a bookmark (see the [glossary](/en/tutorials/bien-demarrer-visuels-plume#glossary)) is a snapshot of the page's state, including the bar's filters. Example: an "Urgent phone tickets" view.

1. In the bar, check "Phone" under Channel and "3 · High" under Priority.
2. In the ribbon, **View › Bookmarks**, then click **Add** in the **Bookmarks** pane.
3. Open the **…** menu of the new bookmark › **Rename**, and name it "Urgent phone tickets".
4. In the same menu, make sure **Data** is checked: this is the option that saves slicer filters.
5. Click **Clear all**, then add a second bookmark named "All tickets".
6. Insert two buttons (**Insert › Buttons › Blank**) and, in **Format › Action**, link each one to its bookmark (type **Bookmark**).

Result: a click on "Urgent phone tickets" checks both filters again and brings back their chips; "All tickets" resets the bar.

## How do I stop the bar from filtering a specific visual?

A "Tickets this year" indicator shouldn't depend on the channel or priority selected.

1. Select Filter Bar Plume.
2. In the ribbon, **Format › Edit interactions**.
3. Above the visual to protect, click the **None** icon (circle with a line through it).
4. Click **Edit interactions** again to leave this mode.

Result: that visual ignores all the bar's filters; the others stay filtered. The setting applies to the whole bar, not field by field.

## How do I add a fourth field or more? ★

Managers also want to filter by status and by year.

1. Drag `Status`, then `Year`, into the **Fields** well.
2. If the bar gets too crowded, set **Format › Layout › Field names** to *Before the value* and leave **Wrap when needed** on.

Result: a bar with five menus. Without a license key, it works with the "Premium preview" watermark.
